The city of Amsterdam has many nice and pretty hotels, but it also provides affordable campsites and youth
hostels. Amsterdam youth hostels are the cheapest way to stay and still have money left over to explore this
fabulous city. Although they do not offer a lot of peace and quite, they are cheap.
When you book Amsterdam youth hostels, you will share that room with a number of people, whether they are your
friends that came with you, or strangers. It reminds you of a dorm room, and the bathroom is usually down the hall.
If there are more than one floor, there is a bathroom on each floor. Be sure to take your own towels and sheets, as
many Amsterdam youth hostels will charge extra for those. You might want to consider taking your own sleeping bag
as well.
Most of Amsterdam youth hostels offer a large common eating room, some games, internet and lockers. When
traveling, remember these youth hostels are busy all year long. The weather in Amsterdam is wonderful most of the
year. Make your reservations in advance. Shelter Jordan is the only hostel in the famous Jordaan area. It is
located in the western part of the city center. It is one of Amsterdam’s’ prettiest streets and the Amsterdam youth
hostels along this street are located in seventeenth century houses.
The Shelter Jordan has one hundred and four beds, it is comfortable and clean. The ‘dorm’ rooms hold fourteen
people, there are separate dorms for men and women. There is no curfew at this hostel, many of them have curfews
and this does not set well with the customers. This is a Christian hostel, so there is no smoking, alcohol or drugs
allowed. The rates are about sixteen EUR off season, and eighteen EUR during high season. Included in these prices
is a breakfast, either warm or cold, a locker, bathroom and a luggage storage. You must pay an extra two EUR for
linen.
Amsterdam youth hostels include one that is famous for the parties the young people like to go to. It is called
Flying Pig Uptown Hostel. It is right in the middle of Amsterdam, next to the Leidseplein, famous for its variety
of pubs and clubs. It is housed in and old Amsterdam mansion, over looking the Vondelpark. If you want to party
this is the place to stay.
There are many amenities that go along with Amsterdam youth hostels such as the Flying Pig Uptown. It offers a
free breakfast every day, free linen, it has dorms as well as private rooms; bunk beds either single or queen
sizes. There are no curfews or lockouts, but you do need a keycard to get in after hours. They also boost of the
cheapest beer in town, as well as munchies that is for sale pretty cheaply. Prices start at round fourteen EUR for
a dorm bed and can go up to thirty EUR for a twin/double room. So if you want to party all night, this is the place
for you.
